About Me

Raised in rural Hawkes Bay, in the small town of Puketapu, I was able to fall in love with Aotearoa’s lush countryside and the soothing sounds that came with it. Nothing triggers the nostalgia of home more than the sounds of magpies, distant sheep, and a frog chorus from the front pond, a clear demonstration of the absolute power sound holds over us.

I originally set out studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Auckland, as a way of learning the technical world behind sound, focusing in on the technology and principles that allow for all of the advanced audio processing tools used so commonly within the film and music industry to exist. Graduating in 2019, I found myself out in the industry, and unfortunately further away from the creative side of sound than I had hoped.

This lead me to diverge a little, venturing back to varsity, this time to Victoria University of Wellington. This time studying audio engineering, accumulating in a Masters In Fine Arts for audio engineering for film.

Now a young junior freelancer, I had my debut feature film screened at Doc Edge 2024, been the solo sound designer and mixer for a feature film in the New Zealand International Film Festival , I’ve developed close relationship with the people at POW Studio, often being contracted in as an assistant sound editor and mix technician. I also worked with orchestra’s like the NZSO, The Wellington City Orchestra, and Wellington Youth Orchestra.

Outside of work, I have a passion for my own musical endeavors and life performance, loving spending time outdoors or in my garden, pursuing other creative hobbies like painting or fire spinning.
