The Rule Of Jenny Penn

Note: This film had it’s sound produced by the talented POW studios in Wellington New Zealand, where I was working at the time.

Roles:Sound Effects Editor, & Mix Technician

Description:

POW Studios’ second project in collaboration with Coming Home in the Dark Director James Ashcroft, The Rule of Jenny Pen is an eerily delve into the terrors that await us in old age.

Not only does Stefan (Geoffrey Rush) have to contend with the consequences of his faltering mind, but has to engage in a battle of wits with a malevolent puppet controlled by co-resident Crealy (John Lithgow). Employing a similar off-kilter approach to storytelling, situations that should be simple and straightforward begin to devolve from the creepy to the terrifying.

POW hosted all post-production for this film, including providing picture, colour, sound editorial and mix services as well as post-production management and deliveries.

The film was a standout at the SITGES festival in Spain, taking joint best actors for the leads, and has since won acclaim on the world circuit. The godfather of horror himself, author Steven King, tweeted that if there is one horror film to see this year, it is Jenny Pen. Electrifying performances supported by the POW Studios boutique touch make this a landmark film in the horror genre.
